Flick me again ...

A new contact on Flickr spotted one of my pics and commented "She looks just like a Niki de St Phalle sculpture".

Pretentious twat, I thought. Then I looked her up - and the work is amazing! de St Phalle created ceramically glazed mesomorphs known as 'Nanas', mostly for public space, mostly in the US.





And he's right, I did spot a Nana walking toward me in Soho last weekend ...

I took this picture on my School of Life 'Photographing London' weekend, snapped through the open window of a bar at the corner of Brick Lane and Bethnal Green Road.

It's scored 1,000 hits on Flickr in just 48 hours. I have no idea why.
